President's Picks for the Tourney

President Barack Obama has locked in his picks for March Madness.  He has wisely went teams from the Big Ten in his early picks, while still picking a few minor upsets including Belmont over Arizona and Minnesota over UCLA.

The Commander-In-Chief went 1-for-4 on championship picks in his first term, and to kick off the next four years, he has picked the Indiana Hoosiers.  Overall, some very safe and smart picks from our President, so we'll see how he does starting Thursday afternoon.

Fired Up, Ready to Go

Now, here at Three if by Strike, we usually don't wax political. And for the most part it will stay that way.  But if you've been watching the Democratic National Convention, then like me, hopefully you're fired up and ready to go.

That being said, I'll go with the non-biased "get out there, do your homework, and go vote for our next president of the United States."

President Obama Thanks Boston...For Youkilis

President Obama was at Symphony Hall on Monday to hold a fundraiser, which happened at the same time as the Sox game.  Knowing how big of a sports town Boston is, Obama decided to slip in a line about the team recently trading Kevin Youkilis to his hometown Chicago White Sox.

I will say, the comedic timing of his first line is pretty good.  And then the line he has explaining that he was just pointing out that all he will have to do is change the color of his socks.  The guy is good.
