Commercial Battle - Subaru vs GEICO

Subaru was never someone I would've pegged to end up in the commercial battle, but this commercial is probably one of the best I have seen since... well, our last commercial battle.  Between his face at the beginning and his amazing collection of art at the end, the marketing guys at Subaru done good here.

GEICO seems to always toe the line between hilarious and obnoxious, and while I still think the clown tandem at the end is the latter, there's something about the "I love the Lebanese" line that gets me every time in this one, making it worthy to stand it battle.

Commercial Battle - Wheat Thins vs. Duluth Trading Co.

Two very different products, two very funny commercials.

A little while ago, I posted a Wheat Thins commercial featuring the classic "Um, I don't know" argument, a yeti and a neighbor named Ted, but this commercial could go toe-to-toe with the best of 'em.

Below, we have a Duluth Trading Co. commercial for their new 'buck naked' underwear.  Its a simple TV spot, but there's something about that guy frolicking around followed by the underwear's slogan of "no pinch, no stink, no sweat" that's hilarious.  Enjoy.

Christmas-Themed Commercial Battle - Samsung

It's that time of year again, the Christmas season.  In honor of that, let's have another commercial battle.  I figure everyone could use a laugh, especially at a time like this, right?

Both of these commercials are from Samsung, who have launched a pretty serious campaign over the past six months.  They are both for Samsung's new phones, the Galaxy S III and Note II.  While both involving the same phones, the same kinda cool but not really necessary feature, but only one can win...

If it were up to me, the first one clearly takes it.  The original commercial was hilarious, but then you make it about the Claus's... Couldn't ask for more.  But hopefully its not up to me, let us know what you think in the comments below.

Commercial Battle: GEICO vs. Jingo's

This may be the closest battle we've had here. It really is a toss-up, and depending on which day it is, I could lean one way or the other. But I'm gonna go with the video below, for Jingos' "Flirt" over GEICO's "Eddie Money Travel."

Why, you ask?  Because its not how you start, its how you finish.

Commercial Battle - Rap Battle Parody

I think some ground rules are in order for future Battles.  First, these videos are not commercials, but just random YouTube masterpieces.  Perhaps expanding to "Video Battles" will make for better battles, but we'll try to do a good bit of commercial battling, although we started off pretty hot and it seems the only way to go is down.

But one thing we will not do at Three If By Strike is quit.  We will scour the internet for your viewing pleasure for hours on end.  Sleepless nights have become routine for us.  Okay, that's not true at all, but if people can get on board with this, we get some comments going, then hopefully this can be a cool piece to the blog.
